Q. What distinguishes Hill Environmental Operations from its competition?
A. At HEO we have managers who monitor the Chief Operating Engineers --who set goals with clients, have frequent on-site meetings with clients, and continually attempt to improve operations and efficiency. In other words, we're not a payroll service; we're a complete professional management service.
Q. Are Hill Environmental Engineers and Chiefs union members?
A. Yes, they are all members of Chicago Local 399 of the International Operating Engineers Union.
Q. Does HEO management ever visit a client site?
A. Yes, HEO managers visit sites and meet with clients' representatives at least once a month and as often as weekly.
Q. Does HEO have a computerized Computer Maintenance Management System.
A. Yes, we utilize computer-based record keeping and reporting for enhanced productivity, accountability and facility management.
Q. What if our building has a different computerized maintenance program and the building manager wants to continue to use the exisitng program?
A. That's okay; we'll do it. We probably know that program, too.
Q. Do all HEO engineers make the same wage?
A. No, the wages paid at each site are negotiated with the Local Union.
Q. Do you have Assistant Chief Engineers?
A. Yes.
Q. Do you use Apprentices on the site?
A. Yes.
Q. How are Chief Engineers selected for a paricular site?
A. HEO recommends candidates for approval by ownership/management.
Q. Are HEO facility records and logs available to the property manager?
A. Yes.
Q. Has HEO ever lost an account?
A. Only when facilities have been closed or building management has changed.
Q. How many engineers are required to efficiently operate our facility?
A. We'll study your facility and make a recommendation.
Q. If HEO is handling purchasing at our facility, can we use our existing vendors?
A. Yes, we will do whatever our client requests.
Q. Will there be regularly scheduled meetings with our building management and HEO managers?
A. Yes.
Q. Does the Hill Environmental Operations name/logo appear on the uniforms that engineers will be wearing in our building?
A. No, but we will be happy to put whatever name a client wishes on the Operating Engineers' uniforms.
Q. Is an Operating Engineer ever assigned to more than one facility?
A. No.
